LBC Worship Band

One of the best parts of the LBC experience is the music.  We love to sing hard, play hard and expend ourselves in worship.  With a band that includes a full horn section to compliment an outstanding group of guitars, percussion and keys, worshippers of all ages can come together and lift their praises to God!  It takes a lot of volunteers to make this happen.  Here is some information if you are thinking about getting involved in the LBC Worship Band.

The Band

If you play an instrument we are interested in talking to you!  Currently we have the following instruments positions in our band:

Keyboard/Synthesizer

Electric Lead Guitar

Acoustic Guitar

Bass Guitar

Drums

Percussion

Organ

Piano

Horns - Alto Sax, Bari Sax, Sop Sax, Tenor Sax, Clarinet, Trombone, Trumpet

The band practices on Sunday mornings at 7:30am.  They receive music files during the week to prepare for rehearsal.  Reading music is absolutely essential.  Audition required followed by up to 6 rehearsals.

The Singers

Currently we use up to 9 singers in the band.  Because of the style and arrangements of the music we sing we use tenors, altos and sopranos.  Reading music is essential.  The ability to sight read parts is very helpful due to the limited rehearsal time we have.  A smile is a must!  We are leaders and teachers of worship.  Our example is crucial.  Audition required.

The Sound Tech

We have been transitioning to digital the last couple of years.  We are using a Mackie TT24 digital board with computer assistance.  Experience is great but not required.  A good ear and the ability to understand the "mix" is important.  Because of the size of the band, acoustic instruments and board controlled instruments, and the room size an understanding of monitor mixes and main mixes is essential.  The great thing about it is that it is all learnable!  Three months of working with an experienced sound tech is required.  Sound techs arrive 15-30 minutes before the band to prepare for rehearsals.

The Video Tech

Our video system utilizes Song Show, PowerPoint, DVD, VHS and computer based video.  We use video extensively in our services.  Announcements, lyrics, video clips, pics, sermon notes and scripture references are some of the ways we use video during our services.  Experience is great but not required.  Three months of working with an experienced video tech is required.  Video techs arrive 15-30 minutes before the band to prepare for rehearsals.
