My Bucket list: Day 7

5/31/2014

Be remembered.

Matthew 26

Jesus Anointed at Bethany

6 Now when Jesus was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper,1 7 a woman came up to him with an alabaster flask of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he reclined at table. 8 And when the disciples saw it, they were indignant, saying, “Why this waste? 9 For this could have been sold for a large sum and given to the poor.” 10 But Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why do you trouble the woman? For she has done a beautiful thing to me. 11 For you always have the poor with you, but ayou will not always have me. 12 In pouring this ointment on my body, she has done it to prepare me for burial. 13 Truly, I say to you, wherever this gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will also be told in memory of her.”

This woman's act of worship is so moving. Her desperate need to worship Jesus and find forgiveness is powerful and life changing!.... And not only for herself, but for all who witnessed, and all who hear about her worship, study the scriptural account, and especially those who mirror her deep love for The Lord Jesus!

Would you like to carry a reputation where others say, "S/He loved God his/her heart, soul, mind and strength"?

Today, ask The Lord to give you opportunities to prove your love and passion. Ask God to give you the chance to share the love and forgiveness we have in Jesus so that others would never forget us! Live your life is such a way that others thank you in heaven for your faith in God while on earth! Be remembered for your faith! Be remembered for your hope in Jesus! Be remembered for your love for our Holy God!

Peace with God.

May you take time today to Thank the Lord, Praise Him, Talk to Him, Listen to Him, Walk with Him, Rest in Him, Work alongside Him, Love like Him, and Have Faith in Him!

Have Peace with God, He  Loves You!

Matthew 11:28-30  Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

John 14:27  Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

John 16:33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Philippians 4:6-7  do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

My Bucket List: Day 5

DO AWAY WITH SIN!

The Bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.  The Bible also says that the penalty for sin is death.  And it is obvious to see that sin is running rampant in our world.  It doesn't take a rocket scientist to recognize that the times we live in are dark, sinful, and broken.

As a father of 3 kids I am looking to the future and asking the Lord for help!  My prayer is that God will help me prepare my kids for the world that they will soon enter.  A few things they need to know are:

1.  How do I avoid temptations?
2.  What do I do if I sin?
3.  What are the consequences of my sin?
4.  How can the Holy Spirit help me through tough times?
5.  What is waiting for me when I die?

The point is that we MUST be ready!  We must have a game plan!  The world seems to just hope they fall into heaven by earning it through good deeds....but it isn't enough!  We cant be so prideful as to think that our own deeds can buy us a place in the presence of a HUGE & HOLY GOD!  Here are a few scripture verses that will help you with the 5 questions listed above.  If you have anymore verses to add, attach them as a comment below!  God bless you and may you come to the Lord as quickly as possible if you are trapped in sin and need Help!  If you need prayer and help, don't hesitate to ask!  We are here for you!

1 Corinthians 10:12-1312 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! 13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

2 Peter 1:3-113 His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But whoever does not have them is nearsighted and blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their past sins.

10 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election. For if you do these things, you will never stumble, 11 and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

James 4:7-10
7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom.  10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Romans 8:33-35
33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?

1 John 2:1
My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

My Bucket List--Day 4

5/28/2014

Stand Firm in your Faith! Here are a few pieces of scripture to encourage and challenge you to make a concrete decision to follow Christ! You won't regret it!

1 Peter 5:6-9--Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. 8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.

Luke 21:19--Stand firm, and you will win life.

1 Corinthians 15:58--Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

1 Corinthians 16:13--Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.

2 Corinthians 1:21-22--Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22 set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

Galatians 5:1--It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.  Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Philippians 1:27--Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel
